Tomorrow night ↠ Spencer Keeton Cunningham & The Midway Gallery Presents: A FREE opening reception for 'DISPLACED' a new solo exhibit by Spencer Keeton Cunnigham.
Spencer Keeton Cunningham is a San Francisco based contemporary artist who has been exhibiting in museums and galleries for the past 18 years internationally and in the United States.
'DISPLACED' has a multi faceted meaning but is primarily derived from Cunningham’s American Indian heritage hailing from the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in northeastern Washington. The idea of displacement is a common theme amongst the native communities of North America. This “Displaced” exhibit falls into the group of past exhibits Cunningham has created in the Bay Area including such exhibits as “Gentrified” showcasing San Francisco’s ever changing gentrification and “ARCHETYPE$” shedding light on the Tech influx in San Jose, California.
