Today, I'm sharing my story like I’ve never told it before:
It starts right here in NYC, growing up poor & on the brink of eviction. Then at 15, I was the victim of police brutality -- but instead of accepting things as they were, I was determined to change them.
Throughout my entire life, I’ve always strived to turn my pain into purpose. And right now, with our City in pain, it’s time to rise up, face our challenges head on, and rediscover our purpose: overcoming this great adversity together.
It's time for a government that works for us: that fights for our kids, revitalizes our city, improves access to housing & healthcare, and more.
I’ve spent my life tackling these issues -- but there's more work to be done. It's time to deliver on the promise of this great City.
