Summer has officially drawn to a close, and the crisp, clear Autumnal evenings have been creeping in earlier each day. This change of season beckons forth a new edition of GRAYSCALE to revel in the darkness; a heady blend of legends and some of our favorite locals will steer the night through a gradient of sounds and emotions.
Output begins with Hidden Recordings’ label owner Deepak Sharma digging deep into his crates as he meticulously opens the room with a mixture of ambient and hypnotic techno. A special live set from the legendary Claro Intelecto follows; the producer explores dubbed-out, electro soundscapes with the emotive and exquisite touch that have made his productions so enduring and timeless. Modularz man DEVELOPER careens into a sonic barrage of cavernous and pounding rhythms for some high-octane, peak-time punishment. Last, but not least, Grayscale resident Anthony Parasole lands the spaceship with a journey through all things techno and beyond; impeccably presented from start to finish as he continuously reminds us that DJing is truly an art form when done right. Around the corner, as the fire crackles in The Panther Room we start with seasoned scene veteran Lenny Posso; the Thema and Chronicle boss is back from Berlin for a few weeks and will showcase his selections spanning his many years on both sides of the pond. The mysterious RRAO follows with a deep dive into their shadowy and immersive world of broken beats and spiraling bass to conjure a rave-flecked hinterland through the fog. Synth scientist Antenes closes with late-night electro, experimental and techno that’s as body-centric as it is deep, drawing upon her Midwest roots.
